What is the NHS Blood Pressure Check service?
A free service for eligible adults to have their blood pressure measured by trained pharmacy staff as part of the NHS Health Check programme.

Why is blood pressure monitoring important?
High blood pressure often has no symptoms but significantly increases your risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney disease. Regular checks help detect issues early.
How is the check done?

Do I need an appointment?
No appointment is needed for walk-in checks. You can also book ahead to guarantee a specific time.
How often should I get my blood pressure checked?
Adults over 40 should have a check at least once every 5 years. If you have risk factors, more frequent monitoring may be recommended.
What happens if my reading is high?
You will receive advice on lifestyle changes and may be referred to your GP for further assessment and monitoring.
