Blood tests
A 10-minute draw in the pharmacy, a partner laboratory, and a pharmacist who reads your results with you.
Which option?
What happens
Step 1A 10-minute draw
Emma, a trained member of the pharmacy team, takes the sample from a vein in your arm in a private room. No fasting for most panels, and you are on your way in ten minutes.
Step 2A partner laboratory
Your sample goes to our partner laboratory on the day it is taken. Results are usually back with us within a few working days.
Step 3A pharmacist reads them
A pharmacist checks every result before it is released to you, and tells you if anything needs your GP.
Good to know
Do I need to fast?
Only for the cholesterol and Well Man / Well Woman panels. We tell you when you book, and morning appointments are easiest.
How long do results take?
Results are usually back with us within a few working days. Some panels take longer, and we tell you which when you book. We email you as soon as a pharmacist has released your report.
Who sees my results?
A pharmacist checks them first. Nothing is released to your account until they have. We do not share them with anyone else without your permission.
Who takes the sample?
A trained member of the pharmacy team. Emma cleans the skin, takes the sample from a vein in your arm, and puts a plaster on afterwards. Tell her if you do not like needles and she will make you more comfortable.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You book and pay online and come in at your time.
What if something is wrong?
The pharmacist will talk it through with you and tell you whether to see your GP, and how quickly.
