Migraitan 50 mg treats the headache phase of migraine, with or without aura. It acts on serotonin receptors to narrow dilated cranial blood vessels, easing pain, nausea and light or sound sensitivity. Relief usually starts within about 30 minutes. For adults with a confirmed migraine diagnosis.

How to use
  • Take one tablet as soon as the headache starts. Swallow whole with water. If symptoms return, you may take one more tablet after at least 2 hours. Do not take a second tablet for the same attack if the first tablet gave no relief. Do not take more than two tablets in 24 hours. Adults 18 to 65 years only. Use only for diagnosed migraine, not for prevention. If there is no improvement after the first dose, speak to a pharmacist or doctor.
Main Ingredients
  • Each film-coated tablet contains sumatriptan 50 mg as sumatriptan succinate. Excipients include lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinised starch, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, macrogol, titanium dioxide E171 and iron oxides. Contains lactose.
Side Effects & Cautions
Common effects include tingling, flushing, dizziness, drowsiness, nausea or short-lived chest, throat or neck tightness. Stop and seek urgent advice if you develop severe chest pain, shortness of breath, sudden weakness, vision changes or signs of allergy. Do not use if you have heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, previous stroke or TIA, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or severe liver disease. Do not take within 24 hours of ergot medicines or another triptan, and do not use with MAOIs or within 2 weeks of stopping them. Use with SSRIs or SNRIs can, rarely, lead to serotonin syndrome; seek advice if you take antidepressants. Not for under 18s or over 65s. Ask for advice in pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you have significant cardiovascular risk factors. Do not drive until you know how it affects you.
