Gramegran Sumatriptan 50mg Tablets

• Take one 50 mg tablet as soon as the headache phase begins. Swallow whole with water. If the first tablet does not help, do not take another for the same attack. If symptoms improve then return, you may take a second 50 mg tablet after 2 hours. Do not take more than 300 mg in 24 hours. Use for diagnosed migraine only.

• Each film-coated tablet contains sumatriptan succinate equivalent to 50 mg sumatriptan. Other ingredients include lactose monohydrate, hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium and magnesium stearate, with a film coat containing hypromellose, titanium dioxide E171 and triacetin, sometimes iron oxides depending on brand.

Common effects include tingling, warmth or flushing, dizziness, drowsiness, nausea or short-lived chest or throat tightness. Seek urgent advice if you develop severe chest pain, shortness of breath, sudden weakness, vision changes or allergic symptoms. Do not use if you have ischaemic heart disease, previous stroke or TIA, peripheral vascular disease, uncontrolled hypertension or severe liver disease. Do not take within 24 hours of ergotamine or another triptan, or within 2 weeks of an MAOI. Use with SSRIs or SNRIs can, rarely, cause serotonin syndrome, speak to a clinician if you take antidepressants. Not for children. Ask for advice in pregnancy or breastfeeding.
