Active Iron Advance 25mg Capsules

• Adults, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and children over 12 years, take 1 capsule once daily with water or fruit juice. You can take it on an empty stomach. Do not exceed 1 capsule daily unless a clinician advises. Not for children under 12 years. If instructions differ, follow the leaflet or pharmacist advice.

• Per capsule: Iron 25 mg (as ferrous sulfate). Excipients of known effect: whey (milk) protein, hypromellose capsule shell, acidity regulators sodium acetate and acetic acid, antioxidant ascorbic acid, emulsifier polysorbate 20, colour chlorophyllin, calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate. Pack size: 30 capsules.

Common effects include nausea, stomach upset, constipation or diarrhoea. Iron may darken stools. Stop and seek medical advice if you get a rash, swelling, breathing difficulty, severe abdominal pain or vomiting. Do not take if you have iron overload disorders such as haemochromatosis, or if you receive regular blood transfusions, unless a doctor tells you to. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before use if you have stomach or bowel disease, ulcers, or if you take levothyroxine, quinolone or tetracycline antibiotics, penicillamine, or bisphosphonates. Separate iron from these medicines by at least 2 to 3 hours. Contains milk, do not take if you have a milk allergy. Safe to use in pregnancy and breastfeeding at the recommended dose, but check if you also take other iron products or prenatal vitamins.
