2San Iron Deficiency Test is a finger-prick blood test for ferritin, the body’s iron store marker, giving a clear result in 5 minutes with a clinical cut-off around 30 ng/ml.
How to use
Clean your fingertip, lance and collect blood in the capillary dropper to the mark, add to the cassette with the provided buffer and read at 5 minutes. Low ferritin results need follow-up with a clinician.
Main contents
Test cassette, two sterile lancets, capillary dropper, buffer, alcohol swab, instructions.
Side effects and cautions
Minor finger soreness or bruising can occur. Ferritin can rise with inflammation; discuss results in context, especially in pregnancy, chronic disease or infection. Do not reuse any components.
