How to use
- Canesten Thrush Combi Pessary & Cream is a combination pack, it contains one pessary tablet, which is inserted into the vagina, and a tube of cream, which is applied externally to alleviate itching.
- For the Pessary:
- Wash your hands before unpacking and handling the pessary.
- Unwrap the pessary from its package.
- Attach the applicator to the pessary.
- Insert the pessary deeply into the vagina as far as it will comfortably go.
- This is usually easier when lying down with bent knees.
- The pessary should be used at bedtime for easy absorption and to limit leakage.
- For the Cream:
- Squeeze a small amount of cream onto your fingers.
- Apply the cream around the outside of the affected area.
- Gently rub it into the skin until it disappears.
- Apply 2-3 times daily until the symptoms have cleared.
- Both treatments should be used until the course is finished, even if symptoms start to clear up. This ensures that all of the yeast causing thrush is killed off. If your symptoms have not improved after seven days, seek medical advice from a doctor or pharmacist.
- Remember to thoroughly wash your hands before and after both applications. Avoid sex until the infection has fully cleared to avoid passing it on.
